BRIGHTER DAYS

By Janine Smith / Christian Gorecki

I was sittin’ around with my head to the ground.
Couldn’t pick it up, no matter how hard I tried.
To my surprise the telephone ringed it was my girlfriend on the other line.
She said, “Woo, child, it took me long time to find your number in my house.
Let’s go out and paint the town like we done lost our minds!”

Only goes to show that you never know.
You never know how this life is gonna flow.
One day you’re down. The next day you’re on top.
But a keep on lookin’ for those brighter days.

Woke up this morning with my face hangin’ down
Couldn’t pick it up no matter how hard I tried.
And to my surprise the telephone ringed.
It was my homie on the other line.
She said, “Woo child it took me some time.
I would have called you sooner but your number I couldn’t find.
I hear ya. I feel ya. You sound kinda blue.
Let’s go and hang out until the late night hour.

Only goes to show that you never know.
You never know how this life is gonna flow.
One day down, the next day you’re on top .
But a keep on lookin’ for those brighter days
Keep on lookin’ for, don’t stop lookin’ for those brighter days.
